The Sonatrach Group announced in a statement this Wednesday the delivery of its first cargo of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Germany, a step aimed at strengthening its position as a key energy supplier to Europe.
The shipment was delivered on July 2 via the Wilhelmshaven 1 floating regasification terminal. The cargo was loaded at the GL2Z gas liquefaction complex in Bethioua and transported aboard the LNG tanker Tessala, which is owned by Sonatrach.
According to the same source, this operation reflects "the group's capability to seize opportunities arising from international natural gas market developments, while simultaneously working to enhance the value of its resources in strategic markets with promising potential. It also highlights its commercial flexibility and its commitment to strengthening its presence in key global energy markets."
Through this operation, Sonatrach intends to "continue developing its exports toward the German market, thereby strengthening its position as a major energy supplier and contributing to supporting energy supply security for the European continent," the public group's statement added.
