The Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, gave instructions on Monday in Algiers to the departments under his ministry to immediately begin processing the requests of economic operators relating to the projected import programs for the second half of the year, and to approve them as soon as the procedures are completed via the digital platform, a statement from the ministry indicated.

The Minister gave these instructions during a working meeting with the ministry's executives, which was dedicated to the projected import programs for the second half of the current year, as well as the strengthening of support mechanisms for exporters.

To this end, the Minister insisted on "the need to immediately begin processing the requests and to approve them as soon as the economic operator has submitted their request via the digital platform," as well as "the establishment of duty teams to ensure the continuous handling of requests and to provide the necessary support to economic operators with effectiveness and efficiency," according to the same statement.

Furthermore, Mr. Rezig highlighted the importance for economic operators to regularize their status with the tax authorities and social security funds, a step that constitutes one of the essential conditions for finalizing the procedures related to their files.

Regarding non-hydrocarbon exports, the Minister deemed it necessary to support the growing momentum this sector is experiencing by listening to the concerns of operators and addressing them with the required speed and efficiency. This aims to contribute to the strengthening of national exports and consolidate the presence of Algerian products in foreign markets.

The Minister also gave instructions to "improve the quality of administrative performance, in line with the State's efforts aimed at improving the business climate, promoting non-hydrocarbon exports, and establishing digital administration as a strategic choice that brings services closer to economic operators," the ministry's statement concluded.
