The French Minister of the Interior, Mr. Laurent Nuñez, expressed his satisfaction on Tuesday in Algiers, regarding his visit to Algeria, voicing his hope for the continued cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Nuñez stated, after being received by the President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune: "I was honored to meet with the President of the Republic of Algeria, after having spent all of yesterday working with my counterpart (Mr. Saïd Sayoud), as well as with the officials of the Algerian and French security services".
The French Minister stated in this regard that the objective is to “re-activate a high-level security cooperation mechanism,” explaining that this mechanism “encompasses judicial and police cooperation, as well as the field of information, in order to intensify and resume normal relations in the field of security cooperation”.
The French Minister expressed his thanks to the President of the Republic of Algeria who “asked his services to work with the French services to significantly improve our cooperation in the police and judicial fields, as well as on the issue of readmission”.
He explained, stating: “Work will now be carried out to implement all of this as soon as possible,” expressing his hope that this cooperation will continue “at the highest level”.
