Algeria, represented by the Assistant Director General of the National Office of Copyrights and Related Rights (ONDA), Mr. Mehdi Delmi, has been elected as Vice-Chair of the African Committee of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO). This was announced this Thursday in a statement issued by the Office.
The Office considered this election as "recognition of Algeria's leading role in supporting copyrights at both the African and international levels". It further noted that this achievement "strengthens ONDA’s contribution to protecting creators and publishers, while enhancing international cooperation in the fields of reproduction rights and intellectual property".
The International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO) brings together numerous collective management organisations (CMOs) for reproduction rights worldwide. It works to protect copyrights and related rights, ensuring that creators and publishers receive fair remuneration.
