Gymnasts Kaylia Nemour and Luna Hamames will represent Algeria at the second stage of the Women's Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, scheduled to take place from March 5 to 8 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Algerian Gymnastics Federation (FAG) announced on Wednesday.
This international competition will bring together the world's elite in artistic gymnastics. It will serve as another opportunity for the two Algerian gymnasts to showcase their talent and determination, as well as the level of excellence of Algerian gymnastics, the federal body highlighted on its social media platforms.
The Baku stage follows the event held in Cottbus, Germany (February 2026), where Olympic champion Kaylia Nemour secured a silver medal on the balance beam.
At the Baku meeting, Nemour will be accompanied by her 19-year-old teammate Luna Hamames, a member of the Hyères club in France.
After the second stage in Baku (Azerbaijan), the competition will continue in Antalya (Turkey), Cairo (Egypt), and Osijek (Croatia), before concluding in Doha (Qatar) from April 14 to 18.
According to the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), Olympic champions Kaylia Nemour (ALG), Rhys McClenaghan (IRL), and Eleftherios Petrounias (GRE) will headline a strong field at the Baku World Cup stage, where returning stars and young contenders promise a high-level spectacle.
