The Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, indicated yesterday, Tuesday, in Médéa that his ministerial department is working to "develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) models adapted to the country's specificities."
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of a working visit to the Wilaya, accompanied by Wali Djilali Doumi, the Minister highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence in various fields. This importance has "prompted the supervising ministry to work on the development of models adapted to the specificities of our country, respecting our traditions, our culture, and the values of our society."
He affirmed that "AI now occupies an important place in several sectors, including the economy and regional security, a fact that necessitates the training of young people and empowering them to understand it with awareness." He emphasized the work being conducted with several experts to develop artificial intelligence models suited to the nature of the society and its needs.
Furthermore, the Minister mentioned the various forms of support put in place by the State to strengthen youth participation in building the national economy through the creation of their start-ups or micro-enterprises. He assured that "entrepreneurship is open to anyone capable of bringing added value to the local and national economy."
During this visit, Mr. Ouadah also listened to the concerns of students at Yahia Farès University in Médéa and exchanged views with them regarding the challenges and obstacles faced by project holders. He informed them of the different forms of support made available to them by the State to establish a true partnership between the university and the national economy.
He further praised the important role of the university in building a strong and developed economy as a source of knowledge and technology, and as a reservoir of human resources capable of driving strong momentum in the national economy, particularly through the creation of micro-enterprises or the orientation towards innovation and technology via the creation of start-ups.
During the visit, Mr. Ouadah also inspected the sites of several projects that have benefited from funding under support schemes, notably a micro-enterprise specializing in application programming and network installation in Berrouaghia, as well as another specializing in the industrial production of concrete products in Zoubiria.
