On behalf of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, oversaw this Saturday the official installation ceremony of the new Director of the Higher School of War, Major General Mohamed Ahmed Sayah, succeeding Major General Hamid Fekane, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defence.

The statement read: "On behalf of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defence, General of the Army Saïd Chanrgriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, oversaw this Saturday morning, June 13, 2026, the official installation ceremony of the new Director of the Higher School of War."

​At the beginning, "the General of the Army inspected the squares of the school's officers and personnel lined up at the flag courtyard, before announcing the official installation of the Director of the Higher School of War, Major General Mohamed Ahmed Sayah, succeeding Major General Hamid Fekane."

The statement continued: "Consequently, I order you to work under his authority, obey his orders, and implement his instructions, as dictated by the interest of the service, in implementation of the prevailing military rules and regulations and the laws of the Republic, and in loyalty to the sacrifices of our righteous martyrs and to eternalize the values of our glorious revolution."

​Afterward, General Chanrgriha oversaw the handover ceremony of the national flag and the signing of the handover-takeover minutes.

Following this, General Saïd Chanegriha met with the command, officers, and personnel of the Higher School of War, where he delivered a guidance address on the occasion, emphasizing "the need to continue the approach of adapting the taught educational programs to the rapid developments witnessed in today's world, by ensuring that the school transforms into a genuine powerhouse of ideas and proposals."

He added in this regard: "Indeed, this school has succeeded in becoming a beacon of knowledge and a center of excellence, graduating competent officers capable of keeping pace with the various geostrategic and geopolitical developments taking place in a rapidly changing world."

He continued, saying: "Consequently, you, as those in charge of this higher school, must continue along this upright path and exert more effort to adapt the taught educational programs to the developments witnessed in today's world and to the significant evolution taking place in military affairs."

He pointed out in this regard that "the People's National Army, which is engaged in a decisive battle to adapt its forces and units to the challenges of the current stage, expects all its personnel to contribute effectively to this effort and to this promising developmental path."
