Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, visited the Tébessa Military Sector (5th Military Region) on Saturday. He was accompanied by the Commander of the 5th Military Region, Major General Noureddine Hambli, to inspect the military detachments that participated in the qualitative counter-terrorism operation conducted on March 12 and 13, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
"Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, visited the Tébessa Military Sector in the 5th Military Region this morning, Saturday, March 14, 2026, accompanied by Major General Noureddine Hambli, Commander of the 5th Military Region. The visit aimed to inspect the military detachments that took part in the qualitative counter-terrorism operation carried out on March 12 and 13, 2026, which resulted in the neutralization of seven (7) terrorists and the recovery of seven (7) Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a quantity of ammunition, and other items," the same source specified.
The Army General addressed the military personnel, "offering his condolences for their comrades who fell on the field of honor during this holy month of Ramadan. He praised their spirit of sacrifice and the heroic action demonstrated during this operation, before conveying to them the greetings and congratulations of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense," the statement noted.
Subsequently, the Army General "provided a set of directives, urging all personnel to redouble their efforts to preserve the security of the country and its citizens, and to continue the fight against the remnants of terrorist groups with determination and pride in this sacred duty."
He also highlighted "the soundness of the approach adopted in the fight against the remnants of terrorist groups, aiming to definitively eradicate this phenomenon from our country," the same source added.
