The President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed that all conditions are met to ensure the integrity of the electoral process. He emphasized that the creation of the Independent National Authority for Elections (ANIE) was intended to embody the state's policy aimed at avoiding any suspicions that might compromise the integrity of the electoral process.

During the periodic media interview with representatives of the national media, broadcast this Saturday evening on national television and radio channels, the President of the Republic stated that “the response to any concerns regarding an overlap between the powers of the administration and the Independent National Authority for Elections will be strictly legal,” within the framework of the state's policy aimed at “avoiding any suspicions that might compromise the integrity of the electoral process.”

The President of the Republic pointed out the need to look at the positive side achieved in Algeria’s electoral path, highlighting that since his election as President, “the term ‘fraud’ has been eliminated from the electoral process and is no longer present in the political dictionary of Algerians.”

In this regard, he stressed that “the state is proceeding with the regulation of the electoral process, as embodied in the Election Law and the Constitution, even if some gaps exist.”

In this regard, the President explained that he had submitted proposals to the head of ANIE concerning “material assistance from existing institutions, such as communes, wilayas, or others, in organizing elections.” He specified that this assistance is “limited to the material aspect and not the legal one, thus not affecting the essence of the elections.”
