ADRAR - The Algerian Red Crescent (ARC) has launched a national first aid training program in the wilaya of Adrar, aiming to train instructors, Quranic school students, and volunteers in the Deep South wilayas.
This program is part of the ARC's commitment to instilling a culture of prevention and strengthening community preparedness. By training instructors and students of Quranic schools and enhancing the skills of volunteers in the Grand Sud wilayas, the initiative advances the ARC's strategic vision of investing in human capital and developing qualified national talents capable of swift and effective response to crises and emergencies.
Under this framework, the ARC has begun implementing a national program targeting instructors and students from seven Quranic schools in the wilaya of Adrar. This program aims to equip them with basic first aid knowledge and skills, strengthening their ability to respond effectively in emergencies, thereby fostering a culture of prevention within these institutions and making them safer and more resilient spaces.
The program covers the "Cheikh Sidi Mohamed Belekbir" Quranic school in Adrar, the "Sidna Abdallah Ben El Abbas" Quranic school in the municipality of Sebaa, the "Cheikh Sidi Ahmed Didi" Quranic school in the municipality of Tamantit, the "Cheikh Sidi Lahbib" Quranic school in Tasfaouet, the "Cheikh El Hassane" boarding Quranic school in Ksar El Fougani in the municipality of In Zghmir, the "Cheikh El Meghili" boarding Quranic school (Kasbah of the Caid in the municipality of In Zghmir), and the "Othmane Ben Affane" boarding Quranic school in the municipality of Bouda.
In parallel, the wilaya of Adrar is hosting a national training-of-trainers session in first aid from July 8 to 12. The session brings together 40 trainees representing ten Grand Sud wilayas: Adrar, Tindouf, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Béchar, Timimoun, Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, Illizi, Djanet, and El Meniaa. Led by expert instructors with national and international experience, the session utilizes the latest scientific and pedagogical methods to qualify trainers who can subsequently train volunteers, expand the reach of first aid training, boost the ARC's operational readiness, and enhance the capabilities of its human resources for rapid and effective emergency response.
This integrated program reflects the ARC's belief that investing in human capital begins with education and training. Promoting first aid awareness among youth and qualifying volunteers serve as essential pillars for building a more conscious, prepared, and resilient society.
