TORUN (Poland),  Algerian champion Yasser Mohamed Tahar Triki snatched the bronze medal in the triple jump competition on Friday evening at the World Athletics Indoor Championships held in Torun, Poland.

The Algerian athlete secured his place on the podium after recording a remarkable jump of 17.30 meters.

Triki's stellar performance came on the first day of the World Indoor Championships. This achievement follows his success on February 25, where he was crowned winner of the World Indoor Tour Gold series in the triple jump.

Confirming his dominance for the second consecutive year within the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold, Triki's recent victory was bolstered by the best world performance of the season.

During the international meeting in Liévin, France, Triki topped the standings with a jump of 17.35 meters. Notably, the Algerian champion outshone heavyweights such as Jamaican Jordan Scott and Cuban Lazaro Martinez, the 2025 World Championship bronze medalist.

Triki's performance in Liévin remains the world's best jump so far in 2026 and marks the third-best figure in his career.

Looking ahead, Yasser Triki is aiming to reach the 17.40-meter mark in upcoming competitions.
