The President of the Council of the Nation, Mr.Azzouz Nasri, stated on Saturday that the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action serves as an occasion to "recall the suffering endured by our country and our people due to the remnants of colonial mines."
Writing on his official social media accounts, Mr.Azzouz Nasri said: "On the occasion of the International Day for Mine Awareness, we recall the suffering our country and people faced from the remnants of colonial mines, which claimed innocent lives and left deep scars."
The President of the Council of the Nation further added: "I pay a tribute of reverence to the leading role of the People's National Army (ANP) in clearing Algeria's land and restoring its security, in loyalty to the martyrs' message and in building a victorious Algeria."
