The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaïb, participated this Sunday via videoconference in the opening ceremony of a forum bringing together an elite group of Algerian medical talents within the country and abroad in the wilaya of El Oued.
According to a ministry statement, “the of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, participated today via videoconference in the opening ceremony of a forum in El Oued. The event brought together an elite group of Algerian medical talents within the country and abroad, in the presence of the Wali, Mr. Bahloul Larbi, leading a delegation that included representatives from the Ministry of Health and local authorities.
In the same context, the statement explained that “this activity is part of the celebration of World Health Day, observed on April 5th of each year. On this occasion, a group of Algerian doctors residing abroad traveled to participate in a meeting initiated by the Consulate of Algeria in Nice. The event also saw qualitative participation from various medical talents and teams active in the wilaya of El Oued”.
In this regard, “the Secretary of State noted in his speech that this initiative follows the outcomes of the virtual meeting held on October 27, 2025, with the Minister of Health, Mr. Mohamed Seddik Aït Messaoudène, and a group of our medical teams abroad. This meeting is a concrete implementation of the supreme authorities' directives to enhance the involvement of national talents abroad in national development, particularly in the health sector. The State underscored the immense efforts to develop the national health system, which have positively reflected on Algeria's position as a regional and continental leader in the UN Human Development Index”.
In this context, “the Secretary of State called on the participating medical talents to move toward permanent and effective communication by engaging in concrete projects, in alignment with the national health policy”.
“The Secretary of State emphasized that organizing this forum, in the context of World Health Day, is not merely a symbolic occasion. Rather, it represents a practical shift from periodic communication to a logic of permanent interaction based on integration and joint action. This activity serves as a practical platform to strengthen cooperation between various actors within the country and abroad, contributing to the valuation of national medical talents abroad and exploring effective ways to integrate them into the national dynamics aimed at developing the health sector and enhancing the quality of health services for citizens across the country,” the statement added.
