The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ouacim Kouidri, announced yesterday, Tuesday, in Ouled Djellal, a project to build a pharmaceutical plant in this wilaya.

On the sidelines of his working and inspection visit to this wilaya, the minister specified that this plant, for which the completion deadline has been set at 16 months, will produce medications based on date by-products.

The minister, accompanied by the Wali of Ouled Djellal, Abderrahmane Dehimi, and the CEO of the Saidal Group, Mourad Belkhelfa, presided over the inauguration in the city of Ouled Djellal of the first pharmacy belonging to the public Saidal Group.

Kouidri explained that this pharmacy is one of 829 pharmacies across the country employing 900 pharmacists, which previously belonged to the former National Retail Distribution Company for Medicines (ENDIMED) and were recently taken over by Saidal.

The opening of this pharmacy is part of the revival of public pharmacies in application of "the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, regarding the preservation of existing jobs and the creation of new ones, particularly in the southern wilayas."

The minister emphasized that, in addition to the sale of medicines, this pharmacy will provide several other services, including health support for patients.
