The Algerian Football Federation (FAF), in collaboration with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), launched a workshop yesterday, Sunday, at the Sidi Moussa National Technical Center (CTN) in Algiers dedicated to the development of amateur football in Algeria, the federal body announced on its official website.

The opening ceremony was presided over by FAF Deputy Secretary General Halim Djendoubi, in the presence of two FIFA experts: Belhassen Malouche, head of the regional technical department for North Africa, and Amr Moheb, in charge of amateur football for the Africa zone.

The morning session featured an expanded meeting bringing together officials from the National Technical Directorate (DTN), regional technical directors, and national team coaches along with their respective staffs.

Discussions initially focused on a comprehensive evaluation of the state of amateur football in Algeria, with a particular emphasis on constraints related to the sporting environment. In the afternoon, thematic workshops allowed for deeper discussions and the examination of potential concrete solutions.

The workshop is scheduled to conclude on Monday with the presentation of the final report and the primary recommendations arising from the proceedings, in the presence of all stakeholders.

Through this initiative, FIFA and FAF aim to strengthen the development of grassroots football in Algeria by providing tailored technical support to ensure the sustainability and structuring of amateur play.
