Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received this Wednesday at the ministry's headquarters, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, who is on an official visit to Algeria, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two ministers held one-on-one talks, followed by an expanded working session involving the delegations of both countries.
The meeting provided an opportunity for a comprehensive assessment of bilateral relations in light of the progress made in implementing cooperation activities agreed upon during Ahmed Attaf's official visit to Poland in June 2024. In this context, both parties emphasized the need to strengthen the partnership and elevate it to the highest levels. They specifically agreed to accelerate the activation of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, tasked with deepening cooperation in several fields such as hydrocarbons, mining, renewable energies, agriculture, tourism, and digitalization, while exploring further opportunities offered by the potential of both nations.
The two ministers also exchanged views and analyses on a range of current international and regional issues, including the situation in the Middle East, the war in Ukraine, and developments in the Sahel-Saharan region.
At the conclusion of the talks, the ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Algerian Diplomatic Institute and the Polish Diplomatic Academy.
