Members of the national community residing in Italy began today, Saturday, the voting process for the legislative elections.
The electorate in Italy numbers 7,073 voters distributed across the Embassy of Algeria in Rome and the Consulates General in Naples and Milan, according to statements made to APS by the national coordinator of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE) for the eighth geographical zone (Madrid - Southern Europe), Rosa Ait Said, who noted that there are 5 competing electoral lists in Italy.
The polling center at the Embassy of Algeria in Rome includes 1,482 voters, distributed across two polling stations (one fixed and one mobile), while the number of voters registered with the Consulate General of Algeria in Naples stands at 1,679 voters distributed across 5 stations, including two fixed and three mobile stations.
As for the Consulate General of Algeria in Milan, the electorate is estimated at 3,912 voters distributed across 5 polling stations, including one fixed station and 4 mobile stations, according to the same source.
In this regard, the Consulate General of Algeria in Naples published on its official social media page the schedule for opening the polling stations within its consular district. The fixed station at the consulate headquarters will open its doors throughout the period extending from June 27 to July 2, while the mobile stations will receive voters according to a specific timetable across several cities under its jurisdiction, namely: Capaccio Paestum, Aversa, Caserta, Palermo, Vittoria, Messina, Catania, Bari, Barletta, Andria, and Trani.
For its part, the Consulate General of Algeria in Milan revealed, through its official page, the operational schedule for the polling stations. The fixed station at the consulate headquarters will open its doors from June 27 until July 2, while the mobile stations will operate according to a schedule covering the cities of Rovereto - Brescia, Treviso - Vicenza, Florence - Modena, as well as Turin - Genoa, enabling the community to fulfill their electoral duty under the best possible conditions.
As a reminder, Italy falls within the eighth geographical zone for the national community residing abroad, which has its coordination headquarters in Madrid. This zone includes 14 countries: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, in addition to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Türkiye.
It is worth noting that the total number of members of the national community registered within the electoral body abroad stands at 854,785 voters, out of a total of 24,727,041 voters registered at the national level.
