Driven by the excellence of the Carthage Symphony Orchestra representing Tunisia, Constantine experienced an intense evening on Sunday, where music transcended borders to offer the audience a deeply moving and unforgettable experience.
Held at the Mohamed Tahar Fergani Regional Theatre as part of the 15th International Symphonic Music Festival, the event drew a large crowd, confirming the growing interest of Constantine's residents in this major musical genre.
The Carthage Symphony Orchestra delivered a remarkable performance, lending a prestigious cultural dimension to the event, which was highly praised by the music lovers in attendance.
Under the baton of Maestro Hafedh Makni, the carefully crafted program was distinguished by its eclecticism, blending iconic works from the classical European repertoire with compositions inspired by Arabic musical heritage, paying tribute to legends such as Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Farid El Atrache, and Baligh Hamdi.
Algerian and Tunisian works, reimagined with modern symphonic arrangements, further enriched the evening, illustrating a harmonious dialogue between tradition and innovation.
Adding a resolutely contemporary touch, orchestral interpretations of pop, disco, and Latin rhythms were also performed, captivating the audience.
A major highlight of the evening was the performance of "Ya Qodsou, Zahrat El Madaen" by the Lebanese diva Faïrouz, as well as the song "Louabet El Ayam" by Warda El Djazairia, both of which stirred deep emotions in the hall.
The captivated audience responded with thunderous applause for these masterful renditions, testifying to their deep attachment to these timeless works.
The 15th International Cultural Festival of Symphonic Music continues until May 7 at the Algiers Opera House, featuring orchestras and ensembles from 21 countries, with the Czech Republic as the "guest of honor."
