The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, oversaw the official inauguration ceremony of the Consulate General of Algeria in San Francisco, according to a statement released this Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Foreign Ministry's statement revealed that the inauguration ceremony of the Consulate General in San Francisco took place during the visit of the Secretary of State to the United States of America. The event was attended by the Consul General and a group of representatives from Algerian community associations.
The statement added that the opening of this new consular facility falls "within the framework of realizing the supreme authorities' commitment to optimally addressing the concerns of our national community abroad, bringing the administration closer to the citizen, and ensuring quality consular services. It also constitutes an additional step in the process of strengthening our network of consular posts across various regions of the world."
According to the statement, this event provided an opportunity for the Secretary of State "to visit the various consular departments and inspect their workflow, as well as to closely examine the nature of the services provided to our citizens falling under the jurisdiction of this Consulate General, which covers 19 wilayas in the western part of the United States of America."
