The 4th edition of the National University "Mobile Film" Competition kicked off on Tuesday at the M'barek El Mili House of Culture in Mila, featuring 21 productions created across several of the country's universities.

The participating works in this edition, organized under the slogan "The Student's Mobile: Idea, Objective, Message," come from 11 university institutions across several wilayas of the country, including Laghouat, Relizane, Batna, Setif, Blida, and Mila.

Mr. Assaâd Arrès, Director of the Mila Office of University Works—the body that initiated the competition in coordination with the House of Culture—stated that this event aims to "highlight students' talents and develop the production of useful content using modern technologies."

According to student Chihab Eddine Djebbar, a member of the organizing committee for this 4th edition, which will run until May 7, 21 films were selected from the 50 submitted to the selection committee. They will compete in the categories of "fiction," "animation," and "works created using artificial intelligence."

The jury will select the best works based on directing, screenplay, cinematography, and acting, the same source shared, emphasizing that the winning entries will be rewarded.

On the participants' side, student Djamel Kacimi from Blida-2 University expressed to APS his "joy at being present in Mila to participate in this competition and develop his skills in this field through the training workshops organized on the sidelines of this edition."
