The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Mr. Kamel Rezig, praised on Thursday in Ankara the complementarity of interests and shared visions regarding development issues uniting Algeria and Türkiye.
In his address during the proceedings of the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum, which he co-chaired with his counterpart Mr. Ömer Bolat, Mr. Rezig highlighted the "complementarity of interests and shared visions on development issues uniting the two countries, alongside the solid historical ties that bind the two sister peoples."
In his speech, Mr. Rezig paused to reflect on bilateral relations linking the two nations, noting that they "have reached an advanced degree of maturity today, supported by a strong political will aimed at building an integrated and sustainable economic partnership based on diversifying areas of economic cooperation."
In the same context, he touched upon the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries, pointing out that it "reflects the solidity of the economic foundations and the promising potential available to achieve a balanced partnership moving toward a deeper and more qualitative phase, based on intensifying industrial cooperation and technology transfer."
The Minister explained that the economic data between Algeria and Türkiye indicate an "upward trend," highlighting that the current ambition of both sides is to "reach the highest degrees and levels of economic integration and partnership."
Regarding the organization of the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum, Mr. Rezig noted its "paramount importance," adding that it embodies a "genuine will to materialize concrete projects between the two countries."
Mr. Rezig concluded his address by extending an invitation to economic operators in both countries to "seize all available opportunities," stressing in the same vein that Algeria considers Türkiye a "prestigious economic partner."
For his part, the Turkish Minister of Trade praised the strong bilateral relations, asserting that they are the "embodiment of the strong will" of the leaders of both countries, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his brother, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In this regard, he pointed out that Algeria is an "essential partner for Türkiye in Africa, outside the hydrocarbon sector," and that the timeline up to 2026 marks an "acceleration in the pace of exchanges between the two countries."
It is worth noting that the convening of this forum comes within the framework of the official visit by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to Türkiye, where he will co-chair, alongside his brother, Turkish President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the proceedings of the first session of the Algerian-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
