The Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nacima Arhab, received the CEO of Fiat Algeria, Raoui Beji, at the ministry's headquarters to examine ways to strengthen the partnership between the two sectors, particularly regarding specialized training programs intended for automotive manufacturing professions, a ministry statement indicated on Tuesday.
This working meeting, held on Monday, was dedicated to "strengthening cooperation and partnership between the two sectors, particularly in the field of developing training related to the automotive industry and improving the skills of national human resources, in line with the industrial dynamic that Algeria is experiencing," the same source specified.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to announce "the launch of the development of innovative, specialized training programs designed for automotive manufacturing trades according to modern standards, thereby allowing the training of a qualified workforce capable of supporting the development of the national mechanical industry and strengthening its competitiveness."
Furthermore, the two parties examined "ways to develop cooperation in the fields of practical training and linking vocational training centers with industrial companies, with a view to adapting training to the needs of the labor market," the statement added.
In this context, particular emphasis was placed on "the importance of building an integrated training system covering the different links in the automotive industry's value chain, particularly concerning the national subcontracting network. This will be achieved through the creation of highly specialized fields that meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises active in, or wishing to integrate into, the manufacturing system for spare parts and related industrial services."
At the end of the meeting, the two parties reaffirmed their willingness to "continue coordination and joint action in order to establish an effective strategic partnership between the Vocational Training and Education sector and Fiat Algeria, serving the future of the national industry in the field of automotive manufacturing," the statement concluded.
