The UN demanded on Wednesday the "immediate" release of Brazilian Thiago Avila and Spaniard Saïf Abu Keshek, pro-Palestinian activists from the Gaza flotilla, who were arrested by the Zionist army off the coast of Greece along with some 175 other activists of various nationalities, all of whom were subsequently released.

The Zionist entity "must immediately and unconditionally release Saïf Abu Keshek and Thiago Avila," stated a spokesperson for the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Thameen Al-Kheetan, citing testimonies indicating that the two activists are being subjected to "severe mistreatment."

The detention of these two activists in Zionist jails was extended on Tuesday for the second time.

Spain and Brazil have demanded their release. Madrid expressed outrage over their arrest in international waters, calling it "completely illegal" and "unacceptable."

A rally in support of the flotilla was organized on Tuesday in Paris, following a call by several French Palestine solidarity associations to demand the "immediate" release of those arrested, an end to the genocide, and to demand the lifting of the blockade imposed on Gaza.

Condemning in the strongest terms the attacks on humanitarian boats by the occupation army, which once again tramples on international law, these Palestine solidarity organizations are demanding "real and concrete" sanctions against the Zionist entity, while advocating for the right of return for Palestinian refugees.

The flotilla initially consisted of around sixty boats and aims, according to its organizers, to break the blockade on the Palestinian territory, which has been devastated by more than two years of Zionist aggression and where access to humanitarian aid remains highly restricted.
