The Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, alongside the Minister of Vocational Education and Training, Nassima Arhab, chaired a coordination working session dedicated to following up on the implementation of the project to prepare the "National Reference for Training and Skills" (RNFC). This project aims to align training with labor market needs and anticipate occupational transformations, according to a statement from the Ministry of Industry released this Wednesday.
The statement explained that the meeting, which took place yesterday, Tuesday, at the Ministry of Industry headquarters in the presence of executives from both sectors, falls within the process of realizing this national reference. It serves as a strategic tool for organizing and describing professional skills and linking training offers to the actual needs of the national economy, especially in light of technological development, digital transformation, and the economic and environmental transition.
The same source added that the project, officially launched on March 16, has reached the stage of completing the work related to the industrial sector. This sector was adopted as a pilot in preparation for generalizing the methodology to other sectors.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed the outcome of the initial phases of the project, which included organizing a training workshop for Ministry of Industry executives and holding coordination meetings to prepare the sectoral statistical program for mapping professions and skills, in addition to launching a field survey to classify industrial professions according to their future importance.
Discussions also touched upon field visits made to the industrial groups "GICA," "AGM," and "SNS" to apply the methodology for identifying and evaluating skills. Furthermore, they initiated the preparation of a program to inventory professions and competencies and appointed focal points at the level of these groups and their subsidiaries to feed the "National Platform for Economic Skills Reference."
The statement noted that the discussion also centered on evaluating the project's progress and setting deadlines for completing the work in the industrial sector, paving the way for expanding the experience to other fields.
According to the same source, the two ministers affirmed that this cooperation aims to build a "flexible and proactive" training system that responds to the real needs of the national industry. By relying on accurate data and objective analysis of labor market requirements, this approach will allow training offers to be directed toward industrial development priorities and the challenges of the future economy.
