The President of the Republic of Angola, Mr. Joao Lourenço, indicated on Monday evening that Algeria and his country can contribute significantly to the development of the African continent, particularly in the energy, industry, and infrastructure sectors.
In a joint press statement with the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on the occasion of his state visit to Algeria, the Angolan President stated: "We wish to explore all the opportunities offered by our two countries, without any exception, because we believe that Angola and Algeria have the means to contribute significantly to their respective development, but also to the development of the entire African continent, particularly in the energy, industry, and infrastructure sectors."
Discussing the main aspects of bilateral relations between Algeria and his country, President Joao Lourenço highlighted that the objective of his visit to Algeria is to "strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation uniting the two peoples and the two countries, which share a common history of struggles and victories."
The two countries share a common history of "struggle against colonialism and against the underdevelopment it sowed," he said.
