Start of Preparations for the Launch of the National Assizes on Memory and the Drafting of the Bill on National Memory

The Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Abdelmalek Tacherift, revealed this Tuesday in Algiers that his sector has begun preparations for the launch of the National Assizes on Memory and History and the drafting of a bill relating to National Memory, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, a ministry press release indicated.

During a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the National Organization of Mujahideen (ONM), Mr. Tacherift praised the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, related to the launch of the National Assizes on Memory and History and the drafting of a bill relating to National Memory, stressing that the sector "has begun preparations for these two projects, which constitute a national achievement and a historical legacy for future generations," the same source specified.

On the occasion of the National Day of Memory commemorating the massacres of May 8, 1945, the President of the Republic had instructed the Ministry of Mujahideen and Rights Holders to proceed with the realization of two projects related to the National Assizes on Memory and History and the preparation of a bill relating to National Memory, "out of loyalty to the martyrs of the massacres of May 8, 1945, and to the martyrs of Algeria."

During his visit to the ONM headquarters, the Minister renewed his congratulations to the mujahid Amar Boumezrag, who was acclaimed as Secretary General of the Organization, affirming that the ONM is "a key partner for the sector in safeguarding the National Memory and defending the message of the martyrs and the mujahideen."

This meeting provided an opportunity for the Minister to listen to the concerns and suggestions of the members of the ONM national secretariat, praising "their permanent commitment to serving the country and preserving national constants."
