The President of the Constitutional Court, Ms. Leila Aslaoui, praised this Tuesday, on the occasion of the commemoration of National Student Day, the role of Algerian students in the armed struggle and the liberation of the homeland from the yoke of colonialism.

Ms. Aslaoui wrote on this occasion: "I can only evoke the image of a brave and loyal generation of patriotic students who believed deeply in the freedom of Algeria. They decided on this very day in 1956 to leave their university careers, along with the prospects and privileges they entailed, to join the ranks of the Mujahideen. They sacrificed themselves and the knowledge they had acquired in the service of our glorious revolution, marking a milestone that strengthened the path toward an independent Algeria."

She added in the same regard: "Following in the footsteps of these heroes, the students of our universities and institutes continue to be a lasting asset to the homeland and an unwavering pillar for its development and progress. Armed with the light of knowledge and awareness, and fortified by the values of national commitment and loyalty to the covenant of our ancestors, they are fully determined to break into all fields of knowledge and ascend the ranks of science, utilizing them as building blocks to contribute to shaping the glories of a victorious Algeria."
