The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mourad Adjal, co-chaired this Sunday in Algiers a coordination meeting dedicated to studying and discussing the national energy consumption model file, according to a statement by the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies.
The same source explained that this meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies in the presence of officials from both ministries, addressed the study and discussion of the national energy consumption model file, considering it a "strategic tool" to assess the development of national energy demand and forecast its future prospects, "in a way that contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of public policies related to energy and rationalizing its consumption."
The meeting also provided, the statement added, an opportunity to exchange views on ways to improve energy efficiency indicators and guarantee the optimal use of national energy resources, in line with the requirements of sustainable economic and social development, and to strengthen energy security in the medium and long terms.
