The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mourad Adjal, emphasized yesterday in Algiers that his sector is prepared to involve the Algerian Brickmakers' Association (ABA) in national efforts aimed at rationalizing energy consumption and promoting energy efficiency, according to a ministry statement.
The Minister received a delegation of the primary members of the ABA, led by Hocine Benhamadi, in the presence of several officials from the sector. During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues related to energy efficiency and the management of energy consumption, the same source added.
During the encounter, Mr. Adjal stressed that the ministry remains open to the views and proposals of various economic operators, particularly regarding the rationalization of energy consumption and energy efficiency. These issues hold particular importance within the framework of efforts to streamline consumption and reduce energy demand, especially during peak periods.
In this regard, the Minister expressed his sector's interest in involving the Association in the work of the intersectoral commission for energy management. This commission serves as a space for consultation and coordination between various actors and partners to support national energy management policy, promote energy efficiency, and develop the use of renewable energies.
For his part, the president of the ABA welcomed the ministry's favorable response to the request for the meeting. He stated that this initiative is part of the Association’s steps toward contributing to national energy efficiency efforts and highlighting the role of brickmakers in enriching the debate on this strategic issue and supporting its objectives.
