The General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) announced on Monday the establishment of special counters named "TASSWIYA" at traditional tax collection offices, as well as Local Tax Centers (CPI) and Tax Centers (CDI), across all wilayas and throughout the national territory.
These counters are exclusively dedicated to welcoming, informing, and guiding taxpayers and citizens who wish to benefit from the exceptional measures provided for in Articles 93 and 122 of the 2026 Finance Act. These articles relate to voluntary tax regularization and the abandonment and settlement of tax debts, respectively.
According to the DGI, voluntary tax regularization allows concerned individuals and legal entities to spontaneously declare previously undeclared sums by paying a unique 8% discharge tax, without the application of penalties or the risk of prosecution. This measure primarily targets unidentified taxpayers as well as those who have not met their filing and payment obligations. The deadline to complete these procedures is set for December 31, 2026.
Regarding the measure for the abandonment and settlement of tax debts, it provides for the total and automatic cancellation of debts recorded for the 2011 fiscal year and prior. Additionally, it offers a 30% reduction on the principal tax amount, along with the cancellation of penalties and surcharges for debts relating to the 2012–2025 period. This is subject to the settlement of the remaining balance by December 31, 2026, either in a single payment or through an installment plan.
The DGI invites concerned taxpayers to visit the "TASSWIYA" counters to receive personalized support and to take advantage of these measures, which aim to achieve tax compliance and the clearing of outstanding debts.
Forms and information documents related to these procedures are available on the DGI website (www.mfdgi.gov.dz).
