The eighth edition of the "Cirta Syaha 2026" International Tourism and Travel Fair was inaugurated this Monday in Constantine, in an atmosphere marked by the significant mobilization of tourism, handicraft, and air transport professionals from both Algeria and abroad.
The official inauguration of the event, which brings together around fifty national and foreign exhibitors (notably from Tanzania and Tunisia), was overseen by local authorities in the presence of representatives from the participating countries.
This edition features a wide range of sectoral actors, including tourism and travel agencies, hotel establishments, tourism operators, financial institutions, and artisans, as well as the national carrier Air Algérie, which is presenting its offers and services designed to support tourism dynamics and mobility.
The event also benefits from the involvement of the academic sector through the participation of universities from the Constantine wilaya, which are contributing to the scientific activities planned as part of the fair, according to the president of the Tourism Operators Club, Azeddine Boulefkhad. The club is co-organizing the event in collaboration with the Local Tourism Office.
This academic presence reflects the importance placed on research, training, and academic expertise in supporting tourism development, according to the same source, who also noted the participation of vocational schools specializing in catering, hospitality, and handicrafts.
Held under the slogan "Investment in Tourism, a Lever for the National Economy," the event features a rich program centered on professional meetings, knowledge sharing, and a study day dedicated to investment prospects in the tourism sector, featuring contributions from specialists, experts, and professionals.
The fair serves as an opportunity to promote the potential of "Destination Algeria," strengthen partnerships between various sector stakeholders, and encourage initiatives that create wealth and jobs—particularly in Constantine, which welcomed more than 40,000 foreign tourists in 2025, according to the Wali, Abdelkhalek Sayouda.
