An agreement for the implementation of the "DigiEnR" project, dedicated to the digitization of renewable energy integration into the national electrical grid, was signed in Algiers between the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), a ministry statement announced.

The signing ceremony took place on Monday in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Algeria, and representatives of the relevant national institutions and bodies, notably Sonelgaz, the Electricity and Gas Regulation Commission (CREG), and the High Commission for Digitization.

The "DigiEnR" project aims to support Algeria's efforts to integrate renewable energies into the national electrical grid through the development of digital solutions for grid management, the improvement of energy planning tools, and the upgrading of electrical infrastructure to accommodate growing capacities of clean energy.

This project falls within the framework of strengthening Algerian-German cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in the fields of digitization, modernization of electrical grids, exchange of expertise, and the reinforcement of technical and institutional capacities.
