The Ombudsman of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Hattab, chaired a coordination meeting on Sunday bringing together the central executives of the Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic. The meeting was dedicated to monitoring the digitalization process and strengthening the mechanisms for addressing citizen concerns, according to a statement from the institution.

The meeting focused on "the implementation of the modernization program for the services of the Ombudsman of the Republic, particularly in its component relating to digital transformation and the strengthening of mechanisms for addressing citizen concerns," the same source specified.

In this regard, Mr. Hattab insisted on "the need to continue the development and digitalization of the various services provided by the institution for the benefit of citizens. Digitalization constitutes a strategic choice capable of strengthening the principles of transparency, efficiency, and speed in responses, while contributing to the improvement of public service quality, in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at placing the citizen at the center of all priorities."

He also emphasized that the modernization of the institution's digital system constitutes "an essential pillar in bringing the administration closer to the citizen and making available more effective mechanisms for receiving, processing, and tracking grievances, requests, and proposals within reasonable timeframes, so as to strengthen trust between the citizen and public institutions."

The participants also examined "a set of guidelines related to monitoring the Grievance Register across various public services."

As such, Mr. Hattab highlighted the need to "intensify field visits by local delegates to observe compliance with current procedures, and to ensure the standardization of the Grievance Register model on a national scale, so as to guarantee its clarity and ease of use by citizens."

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the need to "continue implementing the institution's modernization program and to strengthen coordination between the various central and local structures, with a view to improving the institution's performance and developing its action mechanisms, serving the citizen and materializing the values of modern administration based on transparency, digitalization, and efficiency," the statement concluded.
