A special leave of absence, without loss of pay, will be granted to workers this coming Thursday, the day of the legislative elections, to enable them to exercise their right to vote without any hindrance, according to a joint statement issued this Monday by the General Directorate of Civil Service and Administrative Reform and the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security.

The same source explained that "a special leave of absence is granted for the aforementioned day, without loss of pay, for the benefit of employees of public institutions and administrations, as well as public and private bodies and offices across all sectors, regardless of their legal status, including daily and hourly workers."

However, "the aforementioned public institutions and administrations, bodies, offices, and enterprises are required to take the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of service in departments that operate on a shift system."

This measure follows the summoning of the electoral college for the election of the members of the National People's Assembly (APN), scheduled for Thursday, July 2, 2026, pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 26-145, the statement noted.
