The Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, emphasized during the opening session of the 68th Session of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), held Tuesday in Geneva, Algeria's unwavering commitment to making intellectual property an effective instrument for achieving development and prosperity, as well as a genuine lever for the knowledge economy, the Ministry of Culture and Arts said in a statement.

Algeria "places the protection of intellectual property at the heart of its strategy to build a knowledge economy," the minister declared, stating that "supporting creators and preserving their rights constitute the cornerstone to transform beauty, from an abstract value, into concrete projects with an impact on development, allowing young people to invest in their talents and convert them into sustainable economic assets."

"Within the framework of this direction and under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Ministry of Culture and Arts continues its sustained efforts to develop an environment conducive to cultural investment," the sector's first official added.

In this context, Mrs. Bendouda reviewed the initiatives launched by her department, particularly the "Moubadar Art" project, serving as an incubator and guide for emerging creative projects, as well as the "Ali Maâchi" President of the Republic Prize for Young Creators, which has become an annual event celebrating Algerian talent.

On a regional level, the minister reiterated "the central role played by Algeria as a hub of reference in training executives from sister African and Arab nations sent by the Organization," considering that this "illustrates the pioneering role of the Algerian experience and reflects the aspiration to build an integrated continental and Arab system that supports creative industries and preserves common cultural heritage."
