The Minister of Youth, in charge of the Supreme Youth Council, Mustapha Hidaoui, presided on Wednesday evening in Tipaza over the closing ceremony of the first National Robotics Camp, which ran from July 5 to 8.

The camp, held under the theme "Training Promising Generations for the Future," concluded after four days of activities bringing together young Algerian innovators alongside participants from Arab and African nations.

Speaking to the press on this occasion, Mr. Hidaoui indicated that this camp, organized by the Ministry of Youth, falls within the framework of the sectoral policy adopted in early 2025. This policy includes a program dedicated to encouraging scientific and technological activities among youth and establishing scientific clubs focused on modern technologies and artificial intelligence.

Thanks to this policy, more than 700 scientific clubs have been established and are currently operating in various youth institutions across the country, Mr. Hidaoui added. He noted that the ministry aims to reach 1,000 scientific clubs by the end of the year, demonstrating the public authorities' commitment to supporting the efforts, innovation, and creativity of young people.

According to the minister, this National Robotics Camp represents the first fruits of this approach, which involves organizing similar initiatives alongside numerous festivals and competitions for youth nationwide.

Over 450 participants from various wilayas of the country took part in this edition, hosted at the Tipaza youth center to celebrate the 64th anniversary of Independence Day, alongside around 50 participants representing countries such as Tunisia, Mauritania, Iraq, Chad, and Niger.

The minister, accompanied by the Inspector General of Tipaza representing the wali, toured the various areas of the robotics exhibition. He spoke with the young participants, encouraging them to continue their efforts and research to refine and develop their projects into concrete models.

The event concluded with an evening of artistic performances in honor of the participants at the Tipaza tourist complex.

The young participants in this initiative showcased invention prototypes developed in their scientific clubs. These projects covered diverse fields such as the environment, astronomy, sanitation, and gaming.

The National Robotics Camp aims to develop young people's skills in computer programming, robotics, and artificial intelligence through hands-on training workshops. It stimulates creativity and strengthens their problem-solving capabilities using the scientific method through the real-world implementation of their projects.
