Belmehdi Presides Over Closing Ceremony of the Cultural Season at the Islamic Cultural Center

The Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Mr. Youssef Belmehdi, Presided Today, Monday, in Algiers, Over the Closing Ceremony of the Activities of the 2025/2026 Cultural Season at the Islamic Cultural Center and Its Branches Across the Wilayas of the Country.

In His Speech During This Event, Organized Coinciding with the 64th Anniversary of Independence Day and the Restoration of National Sovereignty, the Minister Emphasized That the Islamic Cultural Center Constitutes "A Fundamental Pillar in Realizing the Sector’s Mission to Establish the National Religious Reference and Strengthen the Foundations of National Identity, Through Cultural and Educational Programs Contributing to the Promotion of Values of Moderation and Balance, and Utilizing Various Cultural and Creative Mediums in Service of the Religious and National Message."

Mr. Belmehdi Clarified That the Islamic Cultural Center Plays "An Integrative Role Alongside the Mosque and the Quranic School, Providing Spaces for Training, Education, and Guidance, Targeting Different Segments of Society, Especially Youth, Through Various Activities Including Lectures, Exhibitions, Arabic Calligraphy, and Chanting, Which Reinforce the Connection to the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah, and Embed Values of Citizenship and Pride in Algeria’s History and Symbols."

The Minister Also Stressed the Importance of "Highlighting Islamic Values," Calling for "Developing the Cultural and Media Content of Islamic Cultural Centers to Enable Them to Address Different Groups, Especially Youth, and Contribute to Strengthening Their Intellectual Resilience, and Reinforcing the Culture of Moderation and National Belonging."

He Also Called to "Expand the Activities of the Islamic Cultural Center and Its Branches and Strengthen Their Presence in Supporting National Programs with Educational and Social Dimensions, Particularly in the Fields of Citizenship, Environmental Protection, Voluntary Work, and Prevention of Social Ills."

On this Occasion, the Minister Praised the "Efforts Made by the Staff of the Islamic Cultural Center Across the Wilayas of the Country and Their Contribution to Activating Cultural and Religious Movements," Calling to "Benefit from National Scientific Competencies, Especially Imams and Researchers."

In the Same Context, He Added That During This Season, the Islamic Cultural Center Organized "Intensive Activities" Within the Framework of "Spreading Islamic Culture, Reinforcing Values of Citizenship, and Establishing a Culture of Social Solidarity," in Addition to "Participating in Exhibitions and Cultural Events, Alongside Programs Dedicated to Education and Training in Quranic Education and Literacy Eradication."
