The High Commissioner for Digitalization with the rank of minister, Mrs. Meriem Benmouloud, received the Minister of International Cooperation and Promotion of Public-Private Partnership of the Republic of the Congo, Mr. Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the High Commissioner's Office said in a statement on Thursday.
The meeting, held Wednesday evening, provided an opportunity to "exchange expertise in the field of digital transformation" and to "discuss the Algerian experience in establishing a national digital ecosystem based on the development of digital public services and the strengthening of digital governance, at the service of citizens and institutions," the same source specified.
On this occasion, Mrs. Benmouloud presented a detailed report on the digital transformation process in Algeria, based on "a gradual strategic vision," highlighting the main projects launched by Algeria in this field, notably the commissioning of the National Digital Services Portal and the inauguration of the Algerian National Digital Services Center, which constitutes an essential pillar for accelerating the digitalization of public services and strengthening integration between different sectors.
In this regard, she specified that "Algeria chose to first lay the foundations of its technological infrastructure before turning to artificial intelligence, convinced that the success of this technology requires an integrated and secure digital environment capable of hosting its various applications."
For his part, the Congolese minister praised Algerian experience and expertise, indicating that his country "wishes to benefit from it, particularly in the areas of public administration, the development of digital services, digital governance, artificial intelligence, and capacity building."
At the end of this meeting, "both parties agreed to continue coordination and cooperation by scheduling upcoming working meetings and continuing consultations, in order to strengthen the exchange of expertise and consolidate partnership prospects between the two countries in the field of digital transformation," the statement concluded.
