Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport Minister, Saïd Sayoud, chaired a major coordination meeting at the ministry's headquarters on Wednesday, focusing on preparations for the official ceremony marking the commissioning of the Gara Djebilet mine project, according to a ministry statement.
The meeting was attended by the ministry's secretary-general, the chief of staff, and several senior officials. These included the director of official state residences at the Presidency of the Republic, the CEO of Air Algérie, the director-general of Civil Aviation, as well as representatives from the "Transtev" group, Algiers International Airport, the National Railway Transport Company (SNTF), the Directorate General of Air Navigation, in addition to representatives from various ministerial departments and relevant security services.
On this occasion, the Minister established a sub-commission responsible for transport and logistics. This body's mission will be to oversee on-the-ground preparations and ensure full organizational, technical, and security readiness for the event.
During the meeting, Mr. Sayoud stressed the necessity of ensuring the readiness of national airports, augmenting the bus fleet, finalizing flight schedules, and mobilizing all necessary human and material resources. He emphasized the importance of implementing the required security measures and ensuring daily monitoring of the sub-commission's work to meet the established deadlines.
The Minister highlighted the critical need for rigorous coordination among all involved parties to ensure the success of this ceremony. He stated that the event should properly reflect the significance of the Gara Djebilet project, which stands as one of the country's major economic achievements.
