The Higher Council for Youth announced in a statement on Tuesday the opening of applications for a program aimed at supporting young leaders in the field of climate education. The program, overseen by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), is open for applications until January 6.
"Within the framework of empowering youth and enhancing their participation in national and international initiatives related to sustainable development, the Higher Council for Youth informs Algerian youth that applications are now open for the 'Leading Minds Climate Education Fellowship' program overseen by UNICEF," the source explained.
This international program aims to "support young leaders active in climate education and develop innovative approaches that contribute to enhancing environmental awareness among future generations, empowering children to face climate challenges, and participating in building a just and sustainable future."
The statement noted that "eligible candidates are youth involved in initiatives, programs, or projects related to climate education and education for sustainable development," setting the final deadline for registration as January 6, 2026.
The Council called on all interested applicants to "review the conditions for participation and submit their files via the following link: https://www.unicef.org/.../leading-minds-fellowship."
