The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diay, arrived in Algiers on Monday for an official visit, leading a high-level ministerial delegation, within the framework of the 20th session of the Algerian-Mauritanian Joint Grand Commission for Cooperation, a press release from the Prime Minister's Office stated.
Upon his arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport, the Mauritanian Prime Minister was welcomed by the Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, accompanied by members of the Government and the Algerian Ambassador to Mauritania, Mr. Amine Sid, the same source specified.
This visit "comes within the framework of the positive dynamic currently characterizing bilateral relations between Algeria and Mauritania and reflects the will of the leaders of both countries to elevate bilateral cooperation towards broader prospects, serving common interests and strengthening fraternal ties between the two brotherly peoples."
The proceedings of the Joint Grand Commission for Cooperation will be dedicated to examining "ways to develop the bilateral partnership, encourage investment, and facilitate trade exchanges, while paying special attention to the development of border areas and the strengthening of economic integration between the two countries."
