The Argentine national football team succeeded, on Wednesday night, in turning the tables on their English counterparts (2–1) and reaching the grand final of the 2026 World Cup.
This came in the second semi-final of the World Cup held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico (running from June 11th to July 19th).
The Argentines will face the Spanish national team in the World Cup final next Sunday, at New York New Jersey Stadium.
In a match refereed by the American Ismail Elfath, and attended by 80,000 spectators at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the English took the lead through Gordon (55').
However, the "Tango" team turned the tables with two goals from Enzo Fernández (85') and Lautaro Martínez (90'+2').
The "La Roja" team had booked their place by defeating the French "Les Bleus" with a clean two-goal victory on Tuesday night.
