All eyes turn this Thursday evening toward Algerian champion Yasser Mohamed Tahar Triki, who will participate in the triple jump competition at the Madrid International Athletics Meeting.
The meeting is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver, an event the CR Belouizdad athlete enters with high morale.
Triki showed an outstanding level in his last appearance, achieving a jump of 17.67 meters, making him one of the leading contenders for the title.
However, Triki will face fierce competition from several prominent names, led by Jamaican Jaydon Hibbert (17.87 m). The lineup also includes Italian Andrea Dallavalle (17.64 m) along with Cuban Cristian Nápoles Contreras (17.40 m).
The triple jump competition is scheduled to start at 7:15 PM Madrid time (6:15 PM Algeria time).
Triki previously won the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series title in the triple jump last February. This crowning achievement, coming for the second consecutive year, was accompanied by the world-leading result of the season.
At the Meeting International de Liévin in France, Triki dominated the scene with a jump of 17.35 meters. Remarkably, he outclassed giants of the sport such as Jamaica's Jordan Scott and Cuba's Lázaro Martínez, the bronze medalist of the 2025 World Championships.
