The National Office of Pilgrimage and Umrah (ONPO) announced in a statement on Wednesday that all pilgrims selected in the draw for the Hajj season (1447H-2026) are required to declare their health status to the medical examination commission and ensure they are free from several specific medical conditions.
This measure is being taken "to preserve the health of pilgrims, in line with the health requirements issued by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 1447H-2026 season, and to ensure the performance of the rites under the best possible conditions," the statement added.
In this regard, the Office highlighted "the mandatory nature of the health status declaration by successful candidates to the medical commission, as well as the verification of the absence of conditions related to kidney failure requiring dialysis, advanced heart failure, chronic lung diseases requiring oxygen therapy, advanced liver cirrhosis, and severe neurological or psychiatric disorders."
Cases that must strictly be declared also include "senility accompanied by dementia, pregnancy in the last trimester or high-risk pregnancies, active infectious diseases, progressive cancer, or cases undergoing intensive treatment."
The Office warned that "failure to declare any of the aforementioned conditions is a matter of personal responsibility and will result in the individual's exclusion from performing the Hajj rites."
