Béni Abbès: Winners of the President of the Republic Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language Honored

The winners of the 6th edition of the President of the Republic Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language were honored this Monday in Béni Abbès during a ceremony organized as part of the national and official celebrations of the Amazigh New Year (Yennayer 2976). The event was organized by the High Commission for Amazighity (HCA) under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The award ceremony took place under the supervision of the Secretary-General of the High Commission for Amazighity, Mr. Si El Hachemi Assad, in the presence of advisors to the Presidency of the Republic, the National Delegate for Child Protection, Meriem Cherfi, as well as local authorities, parliamentarians, and guests from various regions of the country.

The deliberations of the jury for the President of the Republic Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language, chaired by Mr. Aïssani Djamil, resulted in the awarding of the first prize in the category of literature in Amazigh and translated into Amazigh to Lisa Serrik from the wilaya (province) of Tizi Ouzou. The second prize went to Aïcha Mâalem from the wilaya of Batna, while Faïza Remili from the wilaya of Béjaïa took third place.

Regarding the category of research on intangible Amazigh heritage, the first prize was awarded to Karima Ouchache from the wilaya of Batna, while the second prize went to Khaled Fertouna from the wilaya of Ouargla.

Furthermore, Abdelkader Ben Tayeb from the wilaya of Béni Abbès won the first prize in the linguistics category.

regarding the category of technological sciences and digitization, the first prize was awarded to Toufik Djerroud from the wilaya of Béjaïa.

It should be noted that the jury for the sixth edition of the President of the Republic Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language evaluated a total of 103 works distributed across the four categories.

In a speech delivered on this occasion, Mr. Assad highlighted "the importance of this prize in promoting literature and digitization technologies in the Amazigh language." He also indicated that "Algeria's Arab and Amazigh cultural diversity constitutes a unifying element for the people, while strengthening the values of national unity within the framework of a strong and united state."
