The Algerian national badminton team was crowned champion of the 2026 Arab Championship held in Cairo on Friday night, after the national elite squad secured nine medals.
According to a statement published by the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee, Algeria's representatives won three gold, three silver, and three bronze medals.
The gold medals were claimed by Bouthaina Maameri and Cyrine Ibrahim in the women's doubles, and Koceila Maameri and Sabri Medel in the men's doubles.
Algeria's tally was bolstered by a third gold medal in the mixed doubles thanks to the duo Koceila Maameri and Bouthaina Maameri.
The silver medals went to Yasmina Chibah and Linda Mazri in the women's doubles, and Adel Hamek and Abderrahmane Belarbi in the men's doubles.
This was in addition to Abderrahmane Belarbi and Cyrine Ibrahim taking silver in the mixed doubles.
The bronze medals went to Adel Hamek and Abderrahmane Belarbi in the men's singles, and the duo Abdelaziz Ouchefoun and Halla Bouksani in the mixed doubles.
All doubles finals featured purely Algerian matchups, reflecting the clear superiority of the national elite in the championship.
