The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, held a telephone conversation on Monday with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the state of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. The two officials discussed the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for their further development, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
The same source specified that ‘‘at the outset, the Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to his brother, His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, along with his sincere wishes to the Qatari people for continued progress and prosperity.’’
Subsequently, the two sides praised the strength of the fraternal relations uniting the two countries and their brotherly peoples, as well as the level of bilateral cooperation attained and the momentum it is experiencing across various fields. Thanks to the supreme directives of the leaders of both countries, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.’’
In this context, ‘‘both sides affirmed their commitment to continuing their work together to develop and diversify bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic fields, while underscoring the importance of revitalising bilateral cooperation mechanisms at all levels in order to strengthen bilateral relations, give concrete form to and support joint investment projects, and intensify consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest. ’’
For his part, the Prime Minister of the State of Qatar affirmed ‘‘the strategic nature of bilateral relations in line with the vision set out by the leaders of the two countries, ’’ expressing ‘‘greetings of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to his brother, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as his sincere determination to work with him to elevate bilateral cooperation across various fields.’’
