On Wednesday, at the Palace of the People in Algiers, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, presided over the award ceremony honoring the top achievers in the Middle School Certificate and Baccalaureate examinations (2026 session), presenting them with medals, gifts, and financial rewards.
The ceremony took place in the presence of senior state officials and members of the government, alongside the families of the honorees.
Regarding the Baccalaureate examination, the President of the Republic honored the national top student, Groumi Bouchra Hiba Allah from Martyr Bouzira Ahmed High School in Tiaret, Technical-Mathematics stream, who ranked first nationally with an average of 19.26. He also honored Nasrallah Yaqine from Tebessa, enrolled at the Mathematics High School in Kouba (Algiers), who placed second with an average of 19.21, as well as the third top student, Saal Zeineb Douaa, from El Massir Private School in El Achour (Algiers), Experimental Sciences stream, who achieved an average of 19.16.
For the Cadet Schools of the Nation, the President honored the top student, Cadet Guedrez Ziad from the Cadet School of Bejaia, who obtained an average of 18.97 in the Experimental Sciences stream; Cadet Kassab Riham Tasnim from the Cadet School of Blida, who placed second with an average of 18.86 in Mathematics; Cadet Messaoudene Youssef Abdelraouf from the Cadet School of Batna, who took third place with an average of 18.81 in Mathematics; and Cadet Ben Saïd Aya from the Cadet School of Blida, who came fourth with an average of 18.71 in Mathematics.
In the category of students with special needs, the President honored Marrouche Abdelbasset from El Oued, who ranked first with an average of 17.56 in Mathematics; Belkout Douaa from Benni Ourtilane, who obtained an average of 17.44 in Experimental Sciences; and Fohal Ahmed from Batna, who placed third with an average of 17.05 in Mathematics.
In the same context, the top student from the Algerian International School in France, Khalfa Mariam, was honored after achieving an average of 17.38 in Experimental Sciences.
Regarding the Middle School Certificate examinations, the President of the Republic honored the top achievers nationwide, led by Guia Ikhlass from El Allama Khelifa Ben Hassen Middle School in El Oued, who obtained an average of 19.80. She was followed in second place by Mazradi Rana from Bedjaoui El Larbi Middle School in Biskra with an average of 19.65, and Boubidi Basmala from Mohamed Ben Boulaïd Middle School in Batna Province with an average of 19.60.
In the special needs category, the President honored Mohamed Amine Benchaâbane from El Khroub (Constantine), who obtained an average of 18.85, followed by Bouzarah Meriem from Tissemsilt with an average of 18.38, and Rebbadj Malak from N'Gaous (Batna), who took third place with an average of 18.10.
The top student from the Algerian International School in France, Aâroure Noussaiba , was also honored after obtaining an average of 18.42.
Following the ceremony, top achievers in the Mathematics stream honored the President of the Republic in recognition of his special patronage of this discipline and other exact sciences. Student Yahia Alaa, holder of the title "African Queen of Mathematics," presented him with the gold medal she won at the Pan-African Mathematics Olympiad held in Yamoussoukro (Côte d'Ivoire) from June 26 to July 4, 2026.
At the conclusion of the event, the honored students took a group commemorative photo with the President of the Republic.
At the start of the ceremony, the Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, delivered a speech expressing his thanks and gratitude to the President of the Republic for his personal supervision and high patronage of this ceremony, describing it as an "outstanding motivation that fosters a strong desire for earnest, continuous pursuit of knowledge and determination for success and excellence." He praised the President's commitment to "making schools a space for education and intellectual awakening for students while mobilizing all necessary resources."
The Minister also emphasized that "the distinguished success seen in this year's national examinations reflects the high level of mobilization across state institutions and the tight coordination among various sectors," highlighting "the stability that characterized the academic year and the completion of educational programs under normal conditions," all of which contributed to achieving these honorable results.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the top achievers expressed to APS their pride and honor at receiving this recognition from the President of the Republic, praising his continuous care, attention, and encouragement for education and academic achievement.
