Commissioned by the President of the Republic, Mr. Attaf Arrives in Addis Ababa to Participate in the 48th Session of the African Union Executive Council

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, arrived today, Tuesday, in Addis Ababa to participate in the proceedings of the 48th session of the Executive Council of the African Union, which will be held on February 11 and 12, 2026. This visit comes upon assignment by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement by the ministry.

This ministerial meeting, held in preparation for the African Union Summit scheduled for February 14 and 15, 2026, will witness "the discussion of a range of issues and files related to the role and status of joint African action in addressing the most significant political, security, and developmental challenges facing the continent," according to the statement.

On the sidelines of the Executive Council proceedings, the Minister of State will hold bilateral meetings with a number of his counterparts, foreign ministers of brotherly African countries.
