The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, stated on Saturday that the UN agency is facing significant pressures while the Zionist entity continues to violate international law.
Cited by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, Mr. Lazzarini affirmed that the Zionist entity "continues its political pressures aimed at eliminating the UN agency," adding: "We have witnessed the demolition of our headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem."
He also highlighted that "settlers are intensifying acts of violence and seizing lands in the occupied West Bank," warning against the "gravity" of the situation in this territory "before it is too late and this compromises the future of the two-state solution."
Furthermore, the UN official warned that the situation in Gaza "remains catastrophic, with Palestinians being deprived of almost everything and struggling to survive due to the repercussions of the ongoing Zionist war of extermination."
The UNRWA Commissioner-General further indicated that the children of Gaza "have not gone to school for more than two years," insisting on the importance of continuing health services and primary and secondary education provided by the UN agency.
